One of the original 28 subway stations of the NYC Subway system, the 96th Street station (IRT Broadway-7th Avenue Line) was part of the city’s very first subway line, opening in the Fall of 1904. This photo is of the marbled facade of the redesigned Head House located on Broadway, between 95th & 96th streets.
